The North Dakota Game and Fish Department reports the sixth mountain lion, a 3-year-old, 92-pound female, was shot in Zone 1 on Thursday by a deer hunter northwest of Grassy Butte in McKenzie County.
Mountain lion hunting season will end in Zone 1 after two more are killed or on March 31, 2010, if quota still has not been met.
The rest of North Dakota, otherwise known as Zone 2, does not have a maximum mountain lion hunting quota.
