Think running a five-minute mile is impressive? Try running a mile with a rabid fox attached to your arm! That’s impressive. But that’s just what an Arizona woman had to do earlier this week when she was attacked by the fox while jogging.

The unidentified Chino Valley resident told deputies she was on a local jogging trail at the base of Granite Mountain outside Prescott when the animal took hold of her arm.

Amazingly the woman was able to run the one mile to her car with the fox still attached to her arm. There, she pried the animal’s jaws open,  wrapped it in a sweat shirt and threw it in her trunk. She then sped to a  Prescott hospital where, as misfortune would have it, the animal was able to attack another human victim—the animal control officer who removed it from the trunk.

The fox was likely dispatched and both the jogger and animal control officer have begun rabies treatments and have been released from the hospital.
